چکیده

This study investigated the antioxidant enzyme activities in skin mucus of gilthead seabream (Sparus aurata L.) at 3 and 7 days post-wounding (dpw). The expression levels genes that encode stress proteins (grp170, grp94, grp75, sod hsp70) regeneration-related (tf, igf1, tgfb1, der1, apo1 erdj3) also were determined. Mucus samples obtained from left right flanks non-wounded wounded fish. In both fish, catalase glutathione reductase increased (p < 0.05) dpw (100 ± 31% 111 25%, respectively), whereas superoxide dismutase activity only (135 15%). flank fish mainly (grp170 to 288 85%, grp94 502 143%, grp75 274 69%, 569 99%, hsp70 537 14%) 0.05). However, tissue varied depending on investigated, experimental time, gene studied. To best our knowledge, this is first work determine effect a wound different parts same

Dorso-ventral skin characterization of the farmed fish gilthead seabream (Sparus aurata)

The skin is the first barrier of defence in fish, protecting against any external stressor and preserving the integrity and homeostasis of the fish body. The aim of this study was to characterise gilthead seabream skin by isolating cells and studying the cell cycle by flow cytometry, to study the skin histology by scanning electron microscopy and the transcription level of some immune-relevant ...

Skin Mucus of Gilthead Sea Bream (Sparus aurata L.). Protein Mapping and Regulation in Chronically Stressed Fish

The skin mucus of gilthead sea bream was mapped by one-dimensional gel electrophoresis followed by liquid chromatography coupled to high resolution mass spectrometry using a quadrupole time-of-flight mass analyzer. More than 2,000 proteins were identified with a protein score filter of 30. The identified proteins were represented in 418 canonical pathways of the Ingenuity Pathway software. Afte...

Gluconeogenic enzyme gene expression is decreased by dietary carbohydrates in common carp (Cyprinus carpio) and gilthead seabream (Sparus aurata).

Our objective is to understand the low metabolic utilization of dietary carbohydrates in fish. We compared the regulation of gluconeogenic enzymes at a molecular level in two fish species, the common carp (Cyprinus carpio) and gilthead seabream (Sparus aurata), known to be relatively tolerant to dietary carbohydrates. After cloning of partial cDNA sequences for three key gluconeogenic enzymes (...

A role for acidophilic granulocytes in the testis of the gilthead seabream (Sparus aurata L., Teleostei).

In mammals, a complex interaction between the immune and the reproductive systems has been described, in which testicular immune cells produce cytokines and growth factors which modulate gonad functions, while specific gonad cells influence the immune response in this organ. In this study we describe the presence of acidophilic granulocytes in the testis of the hermaphrodite teleost fish gilthe...
